The Central Board of Serikat Buruh Perkebunan Indonesia (SERBUNDO) establish two basis in Wilmar Group Plantation. Establishment was held in plantation of PT. Milano Kebun Cabang Dua in District Labuhan Batu and PT. Milano Kebun Batang Saponggol Labuhan Batu Selantan.
The meeting in PT. Milano Kebun Cabang Dua held on 31st July of 2017. In the meeting that held on Management Office attended by 37 of laborers from many divisions. In this chance Central Board of SERBUNDO represented by Natal Sidabutar (Secretary General) and Suhib Nurido (General Treasurer) explain the existance of SERBUNDO in three provinces such as North Sumatera, Jambi, and East Kalimantan. SERBUNDO also exist in Wilmar Group company in North Sumatera in Merbau Plantation, PT. Daya Labuhan Indah and Kebun Sei Daun. Where in this three plantations, SERBUNDO success to improve the welfare of laborers. SERBUNDO also success to create a Collective Bargaining Agreement that state for guarantee of laborer’s rights.
According to the laborers, the main problem in PT. Milano Kebun Cabang Dua is there is still a minimum bonus and the lack of premium. Therefore through SERBUNDO, the laborers hope to fight for an increasing next bonuses and premiums. Therefore, the Central Board of SERBUNDO requested to the workers to increase the number of members of SERBUNDO in order to facilitate the creating of CBA. There are currently 50 workers from various divisions who have filled the form to become members of SERBUNDO. The number of workers working in Milano Cabang Dua currently numbered about 147 people plantation area reaching 600 Ha.
The basis leader as follows: Prayetno (Chaiman), Jumali (Vice Chaiman I), Nasrudin (Vice Chairman II), Erwanto (Secretary), Fauzi (Deputy Secretary I), Erikson Rismanto (Treasurer), Sukatno (Deputy Treasurer). To complete the administration to the Manpower Office in Labuhan Batu, the Basis Leader will immediately complete the requirement such as a resignation letter from SPSI and other files.
Meanwhile, the establishment of the Basis Leader in PT. Milano Kebun Batang Saponggol was done on August 3, 2017. The meeting that was held at the Employee Hall of Batang Saponggol was attended by 28 workers from various divisions. The meeting was also attended by the Basis Leader of Milano Kebun Sei Daun and elements of Subsidiary Council for District Labuhan Batu Selatan also the Central Commitee of SERBUNDO.
The main problem in Batang Saponggol Plantation is almost the same as other plantations which there is still minimum bonus and the lack of increase in premium received by workers. Therefore, through SERBUNDO, the workers hope to fight for the increase of bonuses and premiums in the future. For that, the executor asks the workers to increase the number of members become members of SERBUNDO in order to facilitate the creating of CBA. Workers eho are present will soon fill out the form and will soon be in the process recording the data to the Manpower Office of Labuhan Batu Selatan.
